Etap Line

Spring is officially here and, yes, we have had 2 straight days of SNOW!! We are Semi Participating in the 1 hour of darkness, all the lights are out, we did leave the TV on, but I am using this time to plug a new comment into my blog using my battery on my laptop… okay, network hub is still on.. Anyway, thought I would feature a few pics from the Etap line as I was reading about them today and thought it interesting that they build a double hull with dense foam filler reducing noise and insulating the interior from the water temperature reducing condensation moisture from the cabin. The European styling is a very welcome change and really gives the 28 a usable cabin for a family of 4 or 5

Very early spring fever :)

Tuesday March 25th, 2008:

took a ride on a small ferry today across a fairly rough straight. the wind was strong, but was not opposing the tide so didn't have a bad affect on the motion. Made me long for a trip spanning 2 or 3 days aboard Popeye III. As that is not in the cards for a bit, I will just add to the ole blog and keep the feeling alive.

Windlass choice

Bought this item on ebay along with the components needed to make it functional. Dealing with Imtra was a pleasure. I got needed information and schematics before purchasing, and, after I received my windlass and accessories as scheduled, it was complete and I didn't need to purchase additional items to complete the install. All this at a fair price. This is a vendor I would use again

Spring 08 around the corner

Been down to the boat a lot lately, getting the springtime bug. Lots of projects completed this winter. Finished mounting the wheel pilot, will make for better single hand sailing or just a more relaxed trip under the iron genny. Also got the whiskey compass re-glassed and back in place, they don't make the model anymore so I am glad the shop on Broadway in Everett was able to recon my old one, it looks fantastic. Boom Vang is complete, I like the heavier line I used, hopefully it will make it a little more user friendly. Like the size so much I replaced the main sheet with the same size line, even bought new blocks to better accommodate the line size. Started mounting speakers for the stereo system, am taking a little extra time to make sure that the speakers won't conflict with every day use or be right in an ear when visiting with friends. Picked up a Windlass, that will be the next long-term project. Got the mechanical components, Switch Relay, Low Voltage Switches, Windlass, now just need the extra batterie, and a lot of heavy cable. The extra batteries will come in handy with a small inverter to help run the new 22" flat screen monitor that attaches to the laptop for DVD viewing and the GPS program.

Well, looking forward to fair winds, see ya in the Breezes.
